Boris Savic brings his expertise in branding, strategic
thinking and visual design to Rocket North, where he divides his time evenly
between client projects and R+D work on our own character line. Previously, he art directed and designed high profile projects for Wells Fargo Bank, Servicemaster, Inc., Emerils.com, City of Boston, MLB and the MBTA. His design and art have been exhibited both locally and abroad, most recently at the New Forms Festival in Vancouver, BC. Boris graduated from Mass College of Art in 1997 with a BFA in Graphic
Design. He has intermittently taught typography and web design at UMass
Lowell, School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and guest taught at his
alma mater, Mass College of Art. A 3rd generation silkscreen artist, Boris
is most likely to be found in our DesignLab, pulling some prints on the
screen press or casting a new toy prototype.
Tim Bithoney contributes his knowledge in user experience
design, human factoring and technology to enable Rocket North to deliver
truly immersive experiences for our customers. He is also the driving force behind our process. Tim has 10 plus years of experience as a webmaster and designer, working on projects such as the MBTA website, Ipswitch (makers of WS_FTP), and ExpertCentral (now part of About.com). His technical background grew from building Internet radio for mega sites such as Barnes & Noble, iWon, Tony Hawk, and RealOne. Tim graduated cum laude from UMass Lowell's business school. His personal
passion for Nintendo games, toy collecting and music has been going strong
for many years, in spite of many predictions and even bets to the contrary.
If you ever go to a hardcore show in Boston, you've seen him. Yup, that's who
that guy is.
John Gillis is our head of engineering, and his top notch
programming skills in XHTML, PHP, SQL, C++ and Java have been instrumental
in allowing us to recommend, and then deliver the right technology solution
to our clients, every time. He is also a member of our award-winning Flash development team, helping our designers crazy creative concepts get rooted in real world (or ActionScript, if you prefer). Before joining Rocket North, John has done programming for 8+ years on interactive websites for clients such as IBM, Phillips, Mastercard, 3M and Symbol. John is currently attending Harvard University seeking a Computer Science
degree. In his spare time John toys with robotics and Artificial
Intelligence and does sound production for local theatre companies and
bands. He also has the distinction of being a first real-life person to lend
his likeness to one of our characters (Tinker).
John Frattalone
is our resident accounts manager. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer any of your questions about Rocket North, John spreads the gospel of the rocket and serves as the bridge between your design needs and the dazzling solutions that are sure to flow forth from deep inside the rocket lab. John has previously served as the art director for international touring act The Slip, and is a cofounder of both The Blue Cake Theatre company and Pub Records, a local, artist-centered live music label. In his spare time, John delves into on 3D animation, which he studied at RISD, and he recently shot a tour documentary for alt-country band Surprise Me Mr. Davis.
